Inspired by an African basket in the collection of a patron, Kurt sought to develop the techniques required to fabricate this shape in wood. Fiddleback makore veneer were applied to bending plywood, with a center disc of crotch maple.

The handles are of curly maple, with leather accents. The separate base is also of curly maple. 24″dia x 4″h
